How eServUK Marketplace works
Start with the problem. Customers post Home Repair or Tech Repair jobs, suitable approved professionals submit offers, and the selected participants manage the work through one private journey.
For customers
The same Laravel rules control the website, Android and iOS journey. Client screens do not decide payment success, professional eligibility or job-state transitions by themselves.
Register a private customer account and choose whether the job belongs under Home Repairs or Tech Repairs.
Select a service, describe what needs attention, add a UK postcode and preferred timing, and upload photos where they are useful and safe.
Professionals become eligible only when their approved service scope and current coverage match the opportunity. Compare the offers that are actually submitted.
Select one professional. The private job conversation then becomes available to the customer and selected professional for accepted work.
When payment is available, Stripe Checkout supports the customer payment. Redirects never mark a payment successful; verified server-side Stripe events remain authoritative.
The professional submits completion, the customer confirms the completed work or requests support, and a review becomes available only after an eligible completed job.
For repair professionals
Creating a professional account does not make an applicant approved or trusted. eServUK reviews the submitted service scope before Marketplace eligibility is enabled.
Add a business or trading name, relevant repair experience, real service categories and realistic coverage information.
The profile remains pending until eServUK approves, rejects or later suspends it through the audited Operations process.
Approved professionals can access suitable opportunities and submit price, timing and message information for the customer to compare.
Selected professionals can communicate, start funded work, submit completion and build transaction-linked reputation through eligible reviews.
Repair-first, not repair-only
eServUK does not advocate a repair that is unsafe, uneconomic or inappropriate. A sound decision may need to consider several factors, and the Marketplace does not calculate them into an automatic repair recommendation.
Repair or replaceSafety before Marketplace activity
The earlier eServUK service rules keep safety-critical and out-of-scope problems out of the ordinary Get Help path. Marketplace users must also follow relevant safety guidance rather than treating a job post as emergency monitoring. If there is fire, injury or an immediate threat to life, contact the appropriate emergency service.
Keep people away from immediate danger. A gas smell, active electrical danger or flooding involving electricity needs current safety guidance rather than a routine repair request.
Historical enquiry pilot
The earlier Get Help workflow remains deliberately separate from Marketplace jobs. It is retained for the configured pilot service while Marketplace V1 is prepared for release.
Configured enquiry services
Submitting this legacy enquiry starts manual review. It does not create a Marketplace job, select a professional or mark any payment state. One platform from start to finish
Start with the eServUK Marketplace, choose the right repair category and keep the job journey in your account.
